ABOUT THE CONCERT
The exquisite beauty of the poetry of Robert Burns with its profound expression of the worth of each human being. Featuring the renowned actor R.H. Thomson and a first-rate ensemble of musicians, this concert celebrates the inspiration that Burns’ poetry has provided to the African-American orator and abolitionist Frederick Douglass; the Bengali poet and social reformer Rabindranath Tagore; and Tayisa Khryplyva, the Ukrainian teacher who is keeping the spirit of Burns alive for children in war-torn Ukraine.
Curated by special guest Alison Mackay
